A stray cat, residing in an abandoned, ruined part of Komimachi, just beyond the hills to the west. It's the Old Commercial District, which was destroyed by a landslide some decades ago. The area still has some buildings standing, but it's been somewhat reclaimed by nature, with all humans living there some time ago moving to the East.
Tuna sticks close to the place she calls her home-- a bar, belonging to someone she knew in the past who often fed her scraps, and its surrounding area, trying her best alongside her "associates" (who are just a bunch of other strays from the area) to maintain things⦠For whatever reason that might be. She has been around for quite some time, but it's not really a topic she likes to discuss⦠Never ask a lady their age.
Her cat form is that of a Bobtailed cat, mostly black with spots of greyed-white. Her fur is a bit long, but well maintained. In her human form, her hair reflects her fur pattern, wearing clothes reminiscent of more Western standards of the early 2000s, a style of dress that definitely stands out-- especially in the small town. She recognizes this fact, but it's a style of dress that means something to her-- and besides that, she prefers to stick to obscure parts of town nevertheless.
She approaches things in a very logical, straightforward manner, with a degree of distanced coldness. This causes her to respond to things in a bit of a deadpan manner, and is somewhat stubborn when it comes to what she believes in. That's not to say she doesn't care about other people's struggles-- she can be swayed just like anyone else. She's just used to having been burned in the past, being a stray and all.
When other people talk her up, though, she retreats, blushes, and usually gets bashful on the spot-- it's clear she's not used to being treated well or amiably.
She is very distanced from humans in general, and would prefer not to get close to them or interact, but like any other cat, any human she latches on to will be shown affection either way. She respects other Henge, especially older ones-- it was another Henge who taught her the ways of the supernatural world when she first became one. She is a bit knowledgeable about such manners with that being said, particularly when it comes to more modern ghost stories and such.
Most of her cats are guys, at about a 9:1 ratio. She used to have a lot of cats under her beck and call, but now at most she can only have a group of 10 at a time-- it seems like a lot of them have gotten lazy and fixated on a set of two cat statuettes that they worship in the Old Commercial District⦠or even just a particular fox in general⦠Much to her chagrin, trying to wrangle them all together.
She keeps an eye on the matters of the town thanks to her network of strays, mostly out of concern that the events leading up to the landslide all that time ago may be repeated. Tuna believes that there should be some separation between the Supernatural and Human realm, as when the two intermingle, she knows that it could be to the anger of the local Gods. That is what she believes led up to the landslide that destroyed the Old Commercial District, after all. Witnessing the actions of the group, however, she seems to be swayed more so towards the idea that such problems can be solved, only by Henge.
She seems to know about a faction of Henge who may believe much more fervently in the separation of Henge and Humankind-- ones who may have an eye on the rest of the group should matters begin to escalate.
She has a gruff, alto singing voice and belts it out often if the backup generator allows it at the karaoke machine in her bar. The cats seem to be a fan. She has a lot of interest in playing instruments and maybe one day being part of a band, but for a Henge like her, that's a bit of a pipe dream.
nut comment: My third Golden Sky Stories character, and the second player character for our second, more collaborative campaign that my friends are (COUGH SUPPOSED) to be DMing. Eclair was kind of in and out because she actually has like, an owner. And just using her character in the context of me DMing sessions felt a little bit weird to me, so I feel like Tuna was a more stable character that I could use to help drive an overarching plot forward. Specifically, assisting with the repairs and eventually restoration of a ruined commercial district that got destroyed in a landslide. We only saw her twice so... Hopefully we'll see you again and learn more about you, Tuna!
