Evil Fact: She's the smallest out of everyone, yet the oldest.
The calm and collected taciturn store owner of Stargaze Records, a quiant record store situated on a street with bustling bars and underground music venues aplenty. Her name is Felicity, but she prefers to just be called Fey. She almost always has a vacant expression, and when she communicates, she usually speaks slowly and clearly and is often perceived as a bit of an airhead, but that is far from the truth— she often takes her time parsing what others are saying and provides a very brief response if needed. Sometimes she needs to say outright if something makes her happy because it doesn't really show on her face. If she talks about things she is passionate about, however, she tends to run her mouth when she isn't used to doing so, so she often loses her breath in such cases.
The record store was passed onto her from her family, and she manages her store with a very laid back, laissez-faires sort of attitude. The store is very well recognized amidst cult underground music fans and circles, and Fey has a lot of connections within this sphere. Her most trusted employee is Michie. Fey likes to organize things meticulously and often changes the way things are organized at a moments notice, whereas Michie mostly handles customers and anything involving physical labor. The record store has come to become just a place to hang out more than anything. Sometimes she lets Michie watch the store while she grabs groceries and cooks upstairs.
Sometimes solo performers like Emi are invited to play in a little corner of the store, but bands need the space in the back where shipments are received to play. People often assume that, when others are working in the store, that she is the last person that could possibly be the owner, but when it comes to anything relating to her position, she is always stern, firm, and confident. She has been working here for a long while, after all.
She lives in the apartment just above the record store. Suffice to say, her store is her life, and the street that she lives in is her stomping grounds. The store holds a lot of meaning to her, and is certain it has meaning to a lot of her customers as well— Michie doesn't hesitate to abuse the employee discount whenever the store can get their hands on her favorite bands' releases and rereleases. Many local bands come to this store to sell independently produced demos.
She hired Nino once, but she had to let her go because she kept going on smoke breaks after every customer interaction— the smell of cigarettes was a bit overwhelming and it stuck to a lot of things like glue.
She likes to branch out and sell bits and bobs at the store every once in a while on a whim— weird antique adjacent decorations, frog statues, retro games. She flat out refuses to sell Funko Pops. The only constant that persisted was a small section of the store with sweets and a fridge full of canned coffees and bottled tea, which is something that attracts a lot of interesting customers. She often takes from the store's own supply, however, and Michie has to talk her out of it often.
nut comment: Felicity. The name is a bit ironic, since she's so unexpressive. I came up with her when I was thinking of a way to sort of expand the world, so to speak. The thought was, if I want to give someplace for Michie to work, what if she had a lovely boss? Then boom, another OC pops out. I remember the second drawing I did of her being turned into a print alongside the yellow background Nino one with the text about not wanting to change. Nevertheless, Felicity. The main idea I had designing her was to kind of contrast the apron uniform with a more punk-ish hairstyle. This kind of embodied the pink streaks which to me is kind of the thing that "speaks" Fey's design. Not sure if it was too much of a success or not. Sometimes I worry that Fey is kind of just... there. But that does make sense, since in my mind she's sort of the hawkish protector of everyone else— I feel more comfortable with Fey there if anything bad were to happen to the other girls, for instance. She'd be the first one to ask kindly, swiftly, and quietly if anyone needed help.
Thinking about all this, though, I'm just reminded I need to make like, an evil fucked up opposite version of the main five girls or something later on down the line... And they're all just like absolutely infallible angels or something like that in contrast. Ugh! Writing all this stuff out is getting my brain running, not good, not good.
Nevertheless, I made Fey to kind of reflect my own change into a managerial position at my workplace. To think that things have developed further and I'm basically the one running the show at a new physical location... Hehe. It's kind of funny to think about it that way. The way she runs the show kind of embodies an idealized workplace and atittude towards it, so there is some contrast with Emi in that regard— but just a general laissez-faires attitude towards work and life in general is something I try to embody. Life's too short to worry and stress about things... It's hard not to, of course, but it's important to give yourself some grace.
