🐕 eclair

My second Golden Sky Stories character. Currently, my primary TRPG Player Character.
In her animal form, Éclair is a small Pomeranian. Contrary to dogs that are usually of that size, she is very demure and doesn't have much energy to spare outside of when she needs that burst of energy or when she's particularly anxious. In both forms, though, some things like treats, meat, and just a general feeling of excitement still cause her tail to wag. She gives the impression of being a spoiled housepet, almost, in the way she carries herself-- but perhaps that in of itself is a façade, as when push comes to shove she may be the first to act.
In her human form, she has the appearance of a child, looking no older than ~12 or so years old. She always wears a black collar and usually can be seen in very dainty clothes, comparable to a doll-- clothes that do not reflect the rural countryside in which she resides. She usually has a small purse on hand for some personal belongings-- it's shaped like a bone. She guards it well and won't anyone else look in her purse. She used to live in the city to the west, but this is not something she discusses at all, if ever.
She's very guarded and enigmatic Henge. She seems to have been a henge for some time and is very familiar with the supernatural and having a sense for it, although the extent of her powers aren't very well honed or explosive as she is a housepet above all.
She is often seen with a smile, and speaks amiably and eloquently. She gives very vague responses when queried about things or when she feels compelled to speak. Her smiles and good behavior almost seem like a farce, at times-- like a tsundere except instead of going ,"hmph!" she'll treat you with an uncanny level of respect as if she was teasing you. When she likes someone, however, she'll speak to them much more casually.
Despite that, though , like any dog, she does enjoy basal pleasures like playing with others, eating, and sniffing things-- in moments like these she has a genuine smile and attitude. She gets along very well with other housepets but is very wary of any wild animal-- especially small ones. Like many dogs, though, when put in a difficult situation or when surprised, she tends to shut down due to anxiety. She shivers, whines, and cries in many such cases.
She really likes human children and won't hesitate to vy for their attention in dog form, or play with them in human form. If one comes into danger for whatever reason, she will always prioritize their aid even if it may compromise her Henge identity. She is mostly indifferent to other humans, though, sometimes almost acting catlike in terms of acknowledgement of them. She despises adult human women, and acts very stand-offish around them-- she won't hesitate to bare her teeth in dog form or hide behind a friend and furrow her brows in human form. As to why she is so guarded, it is difficult to say-- she doesn't like to talk about it at all.
She is a housepet, and has a home on a nearby farmstead, which is a sharp contrast to how she presents herself. She doesn't have much of a talent as a farmdog. She never discusses her master with others. It seems like she avoids the subject, but at the very minimum she holds a fondness for her home and with her master. Her favorite foods (outside of just human food in general) are the dried meat treats her master makes, sucking on bone marrow, and eating salted beef skewers. In the presence of either of these in particular, she gets drool all over the floor or her own clothes.
She will panic, cry, and be at a complete loss for words if she sees her clothes tarnished or heavily dirtied.
nut comment: I have a fondness for little miss Éclair. Like my first Golden Sky Stories character, Pudding, she is a dog, and in a sharp contrast to the freakishly large and dim Pudding, she is tiny and always considered. She is lady-like and guarded and is the type of character to put on faces and airs when around others. She prefers to get things done her way. I used to really enjoy playing dim characters but after playing for some time (mostly as a DM, lol...) I see the value of playing as an intuitive and curious character that can help drive a plot forward for the rest of the group. I have a big overaching story planned for her, for when the DM sessions get passed to me. So hopefully we'll see it come to fruition eventually! For now, Éclair is a dog of mystery...!
