nutritious milk
a little bit about me
I'm Nutritious Milk! I've been an internet dweller for a very long time. I've dipped into several communities over the span of time from ~2006 onwards up until now. Internet forums (neoseeker, Gaia Online) with a brief MMO tenure (Mabinogi, Roblox, Whirled), and then to Steam and more specific game communities (Source Engine, Touhou Hisoutensoku, and then the broader Fighting Game Community). Of course, the internet is a lot more... homogenized now? If I can put it that way, so those -times-, those interactions, they are difficult to replicate these days. I look back at those times fondly.I love a lot of things. Beer, art, music, tabletop RPGs, writing, manga... life itself...! The list goes on. It's simple, really... I like things that make me happy. Although I am a bit picky about it. To describe what I align with... I used to work for a manga scanlation team, Lovely Strange Dark. The title of that group is something that resonated with me— a set of core textures that would guide what I find solace in.
For games, this manifests itself with a gravitation towards RPGMaker/WolfRPG, DLSite, doujinsoft, and the JP indie game side of things. This is where my true love lies, smitten ever since I dug into freeware games like Cave Story and stumbling upon the odd Touhou game download in the early 2010s. I like streaming stuff in this sphere, too! I find myself oddly fixated towards games that try very, very hard to punch above their weight. FuRyu games come to mind in terms of a studio I have a sick fascination with. I either love them to bits or hate them, but these are the sorts of games that I have a subconscious attraction towards. "Love or hate" is a strong way to look at things, but it's true. Things that fall in this category are to be admired, either with some sick gawking gaze, or treasured from the bottom of one's heart. Or both, maybe...
I dug deep into mid 2010's /mu/ and that shaped a lot of where my music palate would align. Alternative, shoegaze, post-rock— but this would eventually culminate in a deep love for underground Touhou doujin music, which is a scene I'm still very invested in. I play a bit of guitar but that's a bit of a backburner compared to my other hobbies— art, notably. That's where I find myself dedicating a lot of my hobby time. Drawing freaky anime chicks makes me happy.
formative favorites
For one reason or another, I have found myself impossibly attached to these things. I have a lot of "favorites," so to say, but these are the things that have irrevocably influenced my perception of media, art, or life in general. If you can click the picture, that means I've done a write-up on them. I hope to put my thoughts to page for everything here one way or another eventually.
My favorite beers :)
